"Every child is an Artist...." - Pablo Picasso
Art Vision
At Norwood Green Infant School we promote and nurture Art & Design so that children can go on to have careers within Art & Design and make use of art effectively in their everyday lives.
We follow a broad and balanced Art & Design curriculum in line with the National Curriculum objectives and using a scheme of work created by that builds on previous learning, ensuring progression and provides both support and challenge for learners.
Children will gain experience and skills in a wide range of the formal elements of art. They will do this in a way that will enhance their learning opportunities, enabling them to use art and design across a range of subjects. It encourages our children to be creative, solve problems and foster their creative development and artistic talents.
At Norwood Green Infant School children enjoy Art & Design and recognise why they are doing it, not just how. Children understand and appreciate the value of Art & Design in the context of their personal wellbeing and the creative and cultural diversity of the world around them.
Our Art & Design curriculum contributes to children’s personal development, encouraging creativity, independence, judgement and self-reflection. We encourage them to be proud of their work, talk confidently about it and to share it with others.
