"Every child is an Artist....." - Pablo Picasso
At Norwood Green Infant School, we intend that children should master Art and Design to such an extent that they can go on to have careers within Art and Design and make use of art effectively in their everyday lives.
We follow a broad and balanced Art and Design curriculum created by that builds on previous learning, ensuring progression and provides both support and challenge for learners.
Children will gain experience and skills in a wide range of the formal elements of art. They will do this in a way that will enhance their learning opportunities, enabling them to use art and design across a range of subjects. It encourages our children to be creative, solve problems and foster their creative development and artistic talents.
At Norwood Green Infant School, children enjoy and value Art and Design and know why they are doing things, not just how. Children understand and appreciate the value of Art and Design in the context of their personal wellbeing and the creative and cultural diversity of the world around them.
Our Art and Design curriculum contributes to children’s personal development, encouraging creativity, independence, judgement and self-reflection. We encourage them to be proud of their work, talk confidently about it and to share it with others.
