How we feel about ourselves and others' influences everything we do and it has a huge impact on learning and success in life.
We run a range of wellbeing activities and events throughout the academic year including our 'walk-to-school' week. Last year we saw more children walking or scooting to school instead of using the car or public transport, which was fantastic. We have had special guests such as "Deborah the Zebra' visit our children to help them learn how to stay safe when crossing the roads and the importance of road safety.
Children take part in lots of different activities that promote...
- Physical fitness
- Emotional well-being and mental health
- Exercise and nutrition
- Behaviour, confidence and self-esteem
- Positive mind set
The aim is that children will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding to make healthy lifestyle choices that they need now and that will prepare them for the future.
Some of the activities we plan include whole school daily mile, dance workshops, scooter slalom, bicycle rides, team-building activities & a 'NED's Mindset Mission' positive mindset show.
The staff also have their own program of events that consist of healthy juices, massages, health checks, forest yoga and team building.
Children usually wear their own sports clothes to school for the week, which makes it more appropriate to access a variety of sporting activities.
Last year children took part in the NED mindset show. NED stands for: never give up, encourage others, do your best.
Children learnt the Power of Yet, how to spark courage in others and how to keep learning and growing, even when we think we already know something.
