Children's Wellbeing

How we feel about ourselves and others, influences everything we do, while having a huge impact on learning and success in life.

We run a range of wellbeing activities and events throughout the academic year including the 'walk-to-school' week scheme. Last year we saw more children walking or scooting to school instead of using the car or public transport, which was fantastic! We have had special guests such as 'Deborah the Zebra' visit our children to help them learn how to stay safe when crossing the roads and to help them understand the importance of road safety. Children take part in lots of different activities that  promote:

  • Physical fitness
  • Emotional well-being & mental health
  • Exercise and nutrition
  • Behaviour, confidence & self-esteem
  • Positive mind set

The aim is that children will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding in order to make healthy lifestyle choices and prepare them for the future.

Some of the activities we plan include whole school daily mile, dance workshops, scooter and bicycle rides and team-building activities.

The staff also have their own programme of events that consist of healthy breakfasts, massages, health checks, forest yoga and team building.

Children wear their own sports clothes to school during the week, which supports to access to a variety of sporting activities.

Our children have taken part in the NED mindset show. NED stands for:  "never give up, encourage others, do your best. "

Children learnt the Power of Yet, how to spark courage in others and how to keep learning and growing, even when we think we already know something.

Children are also encouraged to bring in healthy packed lunches. Click here to read about our school dinner provision. Click here to read more about keeping healthy at our school.
