General Information
In Year 1 the children continue to learn through a variety of practical and experience based approaches. However, as the year progresses the timetable will gradually become more structured. With high expectations, we work hard to develop the children's independence.
The children will be expected to collect all of their own belongings at home time and get themselves changed independently when required. Please encourage your child to dress themselves at home in preparation for this and learn to tie shoe laces if they wear them.
Pupils are required to have a PE kit for PE lessons. This is a white T-shirt, green or black shorts and plimsolls/trainers in a PE bag. All clothes must be named. In the winter we encourage children to have a green or black tracksuit as part of the P.E kit so we can use the outdoors when it is not too cold or wet. Curriculum Information
At Norwood Green Infant school, the curriculum is well planned and delivered effectively and creatively to aid success for all, following the National Curriculum and subject schemes of work. At the beginning of a unit of work, we encourage the children to share and discuss what they already know about the theme or concept and what they would like to find out over the course of the term.
