Home Learning Projects
In KS1, the children complete regular weekly homework which is directly linked to the learning taking place each week in class. However, we also ask each child to engage and work on a ‘Home Learning Project’ outside of school during the term. This style of homework is designed to encourage interaction, talk and a shared experience linked to learning in school, between children and their families in the home environment.
Each child will receive a selection of activities from different areas of the curriculum linked to their termly school themes. They should choose which activities they wish to complete. Once the projects are complete the children bring them back to school to share and showcase their individual work with the rest of the class and their year group. All of the children’s hard work is celebrated and rewarded through newsletters, stickers, certificates, assemblies and school displays.
